Sealants are a plastic coating that is placed over the groove, pit or invagination of a tooth to help prevent tooth decay. Bonding (tooth-colored fillings) restores chipped, fractured, pitted teeth and closes small spaces between teeth by rebuilding the surface with a plastic or porcelain material. Tooth Bleaching – Home bleaching procedures use 10% to 22% carbamide peroxide, 6% to 10% hydrogen peroxide, or the nonperoxide material Hydroxylite in a night guard or bleach tray. These relatively low concentrations of hydrogen peroxide are safe for home use, although the tooth-lightening results are slower than in-office bleaching techniques. Peroxide-based home whitening techniques have been used for over a decade with relatively few problems reported in the scientific literature. ![]()
Power Bleaching or Power Whitening uses highly concentrated formulations of hydrogen peroxide (30% to 50%) to correct severe discoloration in a rapid manner. Power bleaches are always applied by dental personnel in the office. The effectiveness of this technique can be enhanced by using heat, visible light, laser light, or plasma arc energy. Plasma arc is the most energetic of the three methods we offer and delivers results equal to those of laser energy with less heat build-up. Assisted Bleaching is a relatively new concept that utilizes a significantly higher concentration of carbamide peroxide gel (34% – 44%) than home techniques. Therefore, in-office supervision is necessary to protect the gingiva and oral mucosa. This technique may be prescribed to "jump-start" a home bleaching procedure since results may be visible in a single 30-minute application. ViziLite exams can help identify abnormal tissue that might develop into oral cancer. An annual ViziLite exam, in combination with a regular visual examination, provides a comprehensive oral screening procedure for patients at increased risk for oral cancer. The ViziLite exam is painless and fast, and could help save your life. See the ViziLite web site for more detailed information. Silent Nite prevents snoring. Snoring research has also shown that custom fabricated dental devices worn at night that move the lower jaw into a forward position, increase the three dimensional space in the airway tube which reduces air velocity and soft tissue vibration. By increasing the volumetric capacity of the airway and preventing soft tissue vibrations, snoring is eliminated. In clinical research studies, these dentist prescribed oral devices have exhibited initial snoring prevention success rates of between 70 to 100%. Periodontal Disease is a major cause of tooth loss in adults. Mainly caused by plaque, it is usually painless. There are several stages of the disease, and the earlier it is detected and treated the better the prognosis. Regular dental visits are essential. ![]()
Minor Orthodontic – Teeth can drift for many reason, crowding tooth-jaw discrepancy. In many cases arch development or tooth slenderizing can be done and brackets placed for 6 – 18 months to reposition teeth out of minor alignment.
Dental Implants can be an effective method to replace one or more teeth. Without having to borrow support from the adjacent teeth, or in cases where there are no teeth for support, replace a removable partial denture. The process does require surgery and may take up to a year to complete. A Veneer is a thin shell of porcelain or plastic that is bonded to a tooth to improve its color and shape. A veneer generally covers only the front and top of a tooth. Veneers can be used to close spaces between teeth, lengthen small or misshapen teeth, or whiten stained or dark teeth. When teeth are chipped or beginning to wear, veneers can protect them from damage and restore their original appearance. Crowns and Bridges information coming soon. Dentures information coming soon.
